Mayday Parade Tour

By Josh on November 2, 2011

Just checking in. Many apologies its taken me so long to post my first blog on the new DBNO website, but I’ve been super busy out on the road with You Me At Six.

I just wanted to point you in the direction of a few things that I’ve been enjoying over the past few weeks that I reckon you’re going to be into as well.

Now unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past month, then you’ll already be familiar with the following, FIFA 12! It’s been keeping me sane in between the long drives from show to show over in the US and rather than just sitting at my laptop doing nothing, I sit infront of an Xbox making my fellow tour mates cry like babies when I beat them. That being said, Jake from Mayday Parade has gotten really good and beaten me a few times! Anyway, pick it up, get good at it and then come play me!

I’m sure none of you need an introduction to Coldplay, but if for any chance you’ve missed the boat on them in the past, then Mylo Xyloto, their new record, is the perfect chance to become acquainted with the four piece. Check out my favourite song on the record ‘Up In Flames’. This album just featured on a playlist I titled ‘Denver – San Fransisco, the longest drive of all time’. The drive took us just short of 20 hours, which we did in a van. Being in a band and touring for the most part is incredible, but I can safely say that sucked, big time. My point being, it’s the perfect music to send you off to sleep.

I’m not a big reader, but my Mum has always said, there’s nothing better than a good book, and below is proof of that. ’Assholes finish first’ by blogger Tucker Max is absolutely hilarious. Tucker started off blogging about his hilarious anecdotes when at college and his site started getting hits. The more publicity him and his blog got, the funnier and more frequently he updated it, because his life got that ‘bit more interesting’. It’s the follow up to his NY Times Best Seller – ‘ I hope they serve beer in hell’. Give it a check out and laugh your arse off.

A shout out to all the Americans that have come out to see us on the Noise tour w/Mayday Parade etc, it’s been a lot of fun so far. Our record comes out on January 24th in the US, so if you don’t catch us on this tour you’ll have to wait till then!
